Freely You have Received, Freely Give

“Do you not know that those men who are employed in the services of the temple get their food from the temple? And that those who tend the altar share with the altar [in the offerings brought]? [Deut. 18:1.] [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.” 1 Corinthians 9:13-14 AMP Continue reading

Jesus Lives and will Live Forever

The main conflict why biblical tithe should not be collected in the time of grace is mainly because the owner who is Jesus Christ is alive in fact will live forever. Even if money is allowed, even if you yourself is a levite by blood or even if you claim to be spiritually levites. Matters of the Law

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” Matthew‬ ‭23:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Tithing is a matter of the law though, justice, mercy and faith are weightier matter of the law. The argument of pro-tithing is like this: Yes, we are not under the law, should we not practice tithing because its the matter of the law and we are not under the law then, justice, mercy and faith to which also matters of the law should not be practice because the verse say, it’s also matter of the law and we are not under the law? Make sense? Continue reading

Give to Ceasar’s what belong to Ceasar’s and to God what belongs to God.

They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Matthew‬ ‭22:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is one of the verse quoted to justify tithing today. This is interpreted in this way: We are paying tax to the government whether we like it or not, in a sense we are giving what belongs to Ceasar’s. But, the bible also say, we should also give what belongs to God and tithe belongs to God. So, if you are paying tax whether you like it or not. Tithe is the same, it belongs to God you should pay it also whether you like it or not. Make sense? Continue reading
