The explanation goes like this:
“Here” is in the present tense which means that it applies to this very date. Now, when you explain that “men that die” refers to Levites as implied in AMP version, tithers would usually respond to use or read-only KJV version as it is the most not altered version of the bible. As such, KJV version did not say Levites, we are not supposed to add or subtract in God’s word.
With the explanation above, how would you respond?
Answer: Response by using the same argument that you shall not add or subtract in God’s word because apparently, the verse says “men that die” and everybody dies. It could refer to me, you, your neighbor, poor, priest, law offender, anybody because everybody dies. So, having said that we shall not add or subtract in God’s word and the verse did not elaborate who are the “men that die”. Does this mean that literally, anyone can collect tithe? If anyone is entitled to collect tithe? Who shall give then?
Should tither says, “men that die” refers to Pastors or Preachers. Impose the rules that you are not suppose to add or subtract in God’s word which he/she used to reject the AMP version which read:
Furthermore, here [in the Levitical priesthood] tithes are received by men who are subject to death; but in that case [concerning Melchizedek], they are received by one of whom it is testified that he lives on [perpetually].” HEBREWS 7:8 AMP
