“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’Exodus 3:14-15 NKJV
“I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.” Isaiah 42:8 NKJV
In the verse above, “I am who I am” is like saying “I will be who I will be”. Whatever name I gave and will give is up to me. I owned everything, it’s up to me to decide what name I will give. True enough, He gave the name Lord but, did the verse say, “That is my “preferred name” to indicate that “Lord” is His most preferred name?
No. It says, “name” only. Lord is a noun which means “nomen” or literally means name, it’s a title name worthy to a God. This title will last forever because this title is attached to a deity that is eternal. But, is it really His preferred name? Did God give Moses His most preferred name?
Nope, He entrusted the revelation of His preferred name to His begotten Son.
Prophesied by Zechariah and Isaiah:
“And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be— “The LORD is one,” And His name one.” Zechariah 14:9 NKJV
Confirmed by the Christ Himself:
“I and My Father are one.”John 10:30 NKJV- The name is One – Zachariah 14:9
…Holy Father, watch over them in your name, the NAME you gave me, that they will be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I watched over them in YOUR NAME, the NAME you GAVE TO ME, and I kept them safe…. John 17:11-12 CEB
There are 20 bible versions I found with the same thought that the name of the Father was given to the Son.
NIV, NET, CEB, NLT, AMP, ASV, GNT, NCV, TLV, NABRE, FBV, ICB, ERV, GW, NIRV, TS2009, GNBDC, NRSV-CI, BOOKS, CJB
“I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If others come in their own name, you receive them.” John 5:43 CEB
Some might say, “Father’s name in the above verse meant to say, in the Father’s authority. Apparently, that authority is in the name JESUS. This was the name given by the Angel to the Christ who was called Lord even in the womb Luke 1:18. And, even after ascension, JESUS remains to be Lord and was and will be called LORD JESUS CHRIST forever fulfilling Exodus 3:14-15 – “it will be his name forever”. And, Zechariah 14:9- “The Lord is One”
According to verse below;
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the NAME of JESUS every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,” Philippians 2:9-10 NKJV
JESUS is that name that is above all names. Moreover, the verse did not say what type of name (proper or common). So, regardless of the type of name, may it either be personal, title, common, etc. One name is above all names because, as Jhon 17:11-12 say, it is the name of the Father given to the Son before birth. It is not a name invented by man but, given by an angel who was with God from the beginning of time.
Nonetheless, the Father is not the Son nor the Son is the Father. The Son serves as God’s Image where God the father dwells.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”Colossians 1:15 NKJV
In the verse below, it is said that the words that he speaks are spirits, we knew that Father is Spirit. He also said in the below verse that, His words are His Father’s word. So, what He speaks are spirits, Father is Spirit and He did not speak of His own authority. It follows that the Father Spirit is literally inside of Him because He is the one speaking in spirits in behalf of the Father who is Spirit that dwells in Him, therefore, UNITED.
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” John 14:10-11 NKJV
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”John 6:63 NKJV
But, though UNITED, The Father Spirit is also present outside the Image. They are UNITED and SEPARATED.
Separated because God is Spirit who is so vast and cannot be quantified that He said it Himself;
Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.” Jeremiah 23:24 NKJV
“This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?”Isaiah 66:1 NIV
This is the reason why, aside from the fact that while on earth the Christ flesh had to be a man, not God, the Christ still prayed to the Father because, the Father, while being present in the Flesh was also present outside the flesh. The flesh before resurrection was a man that can feel pain the same as how a man would feel pain. And, because of this, He prayed to God who, though dwells in Him is also present outside of Him. They are united and separated.
The God Spirit within His Image (The Son) is an exact but a fractional representation of the God Spirit who is so vast. The fullness of God dwell in the son meaning, though fractional, that fraction contains the exact essence of God. It’s like when you get a glass of salt sea water, that 1 glass of sea water contains the fullness of saltiness of the vast seas. God had done this because should He (The vast God Spirit) suddenly decided to show Himself. He is like a vast unquantifiable wind that, when this huge amount of wind or water decided to suddenly appear literally in your face, just imagine like a signal no. 10000 wind appeared in front of you. What do you think will happen?
The Bible actually describes the Spirit to be like the wind.
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”John 3:8 NKJV
