What is the difference between a temple and a church?

The difference between the two is like the difference between what is a house and a home.

A house implied that although you live in it, you are not happy and or not united with the one in it, in short, you live in it but inside, it’s in turmoil.

A home implies that yes, you live in it and you are happy, united with others who also live in it. In short, the place is not in turmoil.

It is the same as on temple (house) and church (home).

All of us is a temple of the Holy Spirit but not all are a church of the Holy Spirit because Holy Spirit is God and God is life, whether you are good or bad so long as you have life, God is in you, you just don’t know or acknowledge it yet.

“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you? Don’t you know that you have the Holy Spirit from God, and you don’t belong to yourselves? 1 Corinthians 6:19 CEB

But, the moment you knew and follow the will of the life that is in you since conception, you will become a church of God. This means you and the life in you are now in unity. You are now, a HOME – church.

Yes, you too are a church. The Body of Christ is THE CHURCH and every member of it is also called a church.

It’s like a BIG circle, in it are many small circles, nonetheless, whether its a BIG circle or small circles inside the big circle, all are called a circle.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23 NKJV

See here on what the verse above means.

“And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18 NKJV

In the above verse, the body of Christ literally was called the church. His body is a church both literally and figuratively. His body is just one yet it’s called a church and, it is said that we should be like Christ

“No, we will speak the truth with love. We will grow to be like Christ in every way. He is the head,”Ephesians 4:15 ERV

To be like Christ is to be become a church within THE CHURCH, that means, we become an integral part of THE CHURCH or His Body.
