“Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?” So he said to them, “Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.” Luke 3:14
Be content with your wage, it does not say though to be content with what you had achieved.
Wage is relative to what you can achieve.
If you are a mailman and you have a salary of $1000, be content with this salary but don’t be stuck up or be contented by being a mailman for the rest of your life unless, your salary is enough to help the needy, support yourself, your household and still enough to leave inheritance to your children’s children.
Remember to take the following verses also into consideration:
“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs” 13:22
“Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses” Proverbs 28:27
“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” 1 Timothy 5:8
