I and my Father are One

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them from my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”John 10:29-30 CEB

How to understand the verse above?

Answer: One is a numerical number. What the verse is saying is true in terms of numerical numbers. Aside from one in name and works. Truly, Father and the Son are one but does it mean that they are the same? Can you be numerically one yet not the same? Yes, it’s possible, it’s called composite one

Example: Water is very vast but when contained in a bottle, how many water bottles? Answer: There is only one but is water the same as the bottle? Nope! Water is not the bottle nor the bottle is the water yet they are numerically one.

Father is Eternal Life-John 17:3, very vast and invisible, part of the eternal life in exact essence as the source is in the Son-Col 1:19.

Son is the Image of Eternal Life Col 1:15, He represents the Father to the creation.

They are one as composite and in counts since you can only see the Son or the Image of God. For this reason, when the Son speaks He sometimes includes the Father because He can see Him and only Him hence, “US” “OUR” in Gen 1:26.
